Phu Hin Lat Cho Fa is a mountain in the Phu Phan Range, It offers a scenic landscape of natural beauty as well as bio – diversity and rare species.There are large stone terraces and cave in the mountain that used to be the sight of political conflicts and armed confrontation between the Communist Party of Thailand and Royal Thai Government.
ภูหินลาดช่อฟ้าเป็นส่วนหนึ่งของเทือกเขาภูพาน เป็นภูเขาที่มีทิวทัศน์สวยงาม และเต็มไปด้วยความหลากหลายทางชีวภาพต่างๆ ทั้งที่พบเห็นได้โดยทั่วไป และหายาก บนภูเขามีถ้ำและลานหินจำนวนมาก ซึ่งครั้งหนึ่งเคยเป็นยุทธภูมิของการต่อสู้ทางการเมืองด้วยกำลังอาวุธ ระหว่างพรรคคอมมิวนิสต์แห่งประเทศไทย และ ฝ่ายรัฐบาล
It was a meeting point between the people in the jungle and the people in the village or in town for information exchange and knowledge of movements of their political opponents ( called the enemy party at that time).The broken rock of Ta Mak Hot was chosen as a meeting point because of its distinctive feature,and it would be a reminder of the secret training here. The site was also used for scaning persons to post at operation bases. ลานตาหมากฮอต เป็นจุดนัดหมายระหว่างคนที่อยู่ในป่า กับอยู่ในบ้าน หรือในเมือง เพื่อพบปะแลกเปลี่ยนข้อมูลข่าวสาร รับรู้ความเคลื่อนไหวของฝ่ายการเมืองหรือฝ่ายตรงข้าม ( ตอนนั้นเรียกกันว่าศัตรู ) การที่เอาหินแตกตาหมากฮอตเป็นที่นัดหมาย เพราะลักษณะหินที่แตกป็นจุดเด่น และเพื่อเป็นการเตือนไม่ให้ลืมวัน เวลา และสถานที่ ในระหว่างการฝึกลับ และเป็นจุดที่กลั่นกรองบุคคลที่จะเข้าสู่ทับปฏิบัติการต่างๆ อีกด้วย

It was a shelter in the heart of Phu Hin Lat Cho Fa , just to the east of the rocky ground.This high place overlooked a panoramic view in the distance.The shelter was established as an operation base of the jungle unit force in 1964 , responsible for political , military , and mass affairs. The jungle unit force divided its operations into four lines: Asia , Europe , Latin America , and the Red Sea. Furthermore , a self – defence military division ( Po. To. O. ) was formed to coordinate the fight with Tho Ro. 31-32 against the three-day-three-night succeeded in destroying the enemy, holding some captives , and seizing property and war weapons. ทับสูง เป็นทับที่อยู่ในกลางภูหินลาดช่อฟ้า ตั้งอยู่ทางด้านทิศตะวันออกของลานหิน จากทับนี้สามารถมองเห็นภูมิทัศน์รอบข้างได้ไกล เนื่องจากอยู่ในที่สูง ทับสูงจัดตั้งเป็นฐานเมื่อ พ.ศ. 2507 เป็บทับศูนย์กลางการทำงานของกองกำลังหน่วยป่า โดยเฉพาะงานด้านการเมือง การทหาร และงานมวลชน นอกจากนี้การดำเนินงานของกองกำลังหน่วยป่า ยังได้มีการแบ่งสายงาน หรือเขตงานออกเป็น 4 สาย 4 เขต คือ 1. เขตงานเอเชีย 2. เขตงานยุโรป 3. เขตงานลาตินอเมริกา 4. เขตงานทะเลแดง และยังได้มีการก่อตั้งกองทหารหมวดป้องกันตนเอง ( ป.ต.อ. ) ร่วมประสานการสู้รบ ทร. 31 - 32 ต้านยุทธการล้อมปราบ 3 วัน 3 คืนกับทางการ ตีช้างทั้งโขลงทั้งทำลายศัตรู ทั้งจับเป็นเชลย ยึดทรัพย์สิน และ อาวุธสงคราม
